The following are the core beliefs of Life Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
GOD
BIBLE CENTERED TEACHING
There is one God, who has revealed Himself in three primary roles: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. He is both God and man (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:15-17).
We strive to teach and preach God's word with integrity and authority so people can grow and mature spiritually. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." Timothy 3:16
BIBLE
GOD'S GRACE & MERCY
The Bible is the infallible Word of God, and the authority for salvation and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
We encourage one another to serve Jesus Christ through hearts of love and gratitude, not guilt and condemnation. "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, (5) made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved." Ephesians 2:4-5
SIN & SALVATION
FAMILY
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Because we have sinned, we believe everyone must be born again of water and Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:3-5). Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
We believe there is nothing more important than strong families. Therefore, we strive to give biblical instruction that serves as a wall of protection that will keep the family unit together. "He and all his family were devout and God-fearing... and prayed to God regularly." Acts 10:2
GOSPEL
EVANGELISM
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (resurrection) with the evidence of speaking with other tongues (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4; 37-39; Acts 10:44-48; Romans 6:3-4).
We believe Jesus Christ came to "seek and save the lost". We are responsible to pursue, win, and disciple the unchurched. "For the son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10
CHRISTIAN LIVING
PRAYER
As Christians, we strive to exemplify the words of Jesus Christ to love God with all our hearts, soul, and mind, as well as loving others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Matthew 22:37-39; Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).
We depend on private as well as corporate prayer to direct us in the planning and execution of all ministries and functions of the church. "But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word." Acts 6:4
PRAISE & WORSHIP
We believe in giving all glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ thorugh the celebration of praise and worship. We praise Him for what he has done and we worship Him for who He is. "Worship the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs...Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name." Psalm 100:2-4
